Tad Mathews is hard at work producing a follow-up wakeskating film to last year’s release of “Scallywags.” His new film, titled “More Than Machines” is scheduled for a summer release and is still in the early stages of production (so early that an official list of riders has not been announced). But Mathews has already captured some amazing footage of Stu Shinn, Dieter Humpsch, Keaton Bowlby, Nick Taylor and Matt Hooker. Mathews also has numerous winching trips planned, as well as a trip to Bowlby’s private, scenic set-up in Tahoe.
With “More than Machines”, Mathews said, “I’m trying to do something different. Scallywags was fun, but this time around I’ve got new inspiration. I’ve learned a lot and it’s going to be good. I’m stoked on everyone who has been involved so far.” After watching the trailer, I’m completely convinced of this. Check it out for yourself at the current More Than Machines website.

The WakePlace spends the day with Keaton Bowlby and Tad Mathews while filming for “More than Machines”, a wakeskate film to be released in Summer 2010. Our newest member of TheWakePlace team, Dieter Humpsch, shot and edited this video for us – his first for the site. You will be seeing much more from Dieter on TheWakePlace as we move forward into 2010. In my opinion, Dieter has an amazing vision when it comes to film, so prepare to be blown away.
